Job Description:

Summary/Objective:  The Designer is responsible for helping build and strengthen 2nd.MD’s brand identity through the development of a wide variety of marketing materials, both print and digital. 

The ideal candidate will be capable of supporting the Creative Director, brainstorming brilliant ideas and helping bring those ideas to life. You will be responsible for working with clients and co-workers to design, build, and launch creative content including (but not limited to) trade-show graphics, PowerPoint presentations, HTML emails, websites, postcards, posters, business cards and more.

This position will report to the Creative Director. Must have the ability to complete the entire creative process from concept development through production. The job requires the individual to be able to select the appropriate design approach to communicate the key marketing objective – while taking into consideration the project timeline.

Responsibilities:

  • Creative design of marketing materials targeted at employees who have the 2nd.MD benefit
  • Design visuals for marketing campaigns
  • Translate concepts highlighting the company’s brand to beautiful, functional design
  • Collaborate with client companies to create dual-branded materials
  • Archive files and maintain document library
Qualifications:

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Ability to conceive of and design a detailed concept in Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator and prepare for publication as a printed item or online.
  • Solid foundation of basic design and layout principles such as color, composition, typography, and continuity.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Ability to multitask between projects.
  • Ability to understand a brand or design direction and maintain its integrity throughout a project.
  • Ability to think creatively and justify concepts to team members.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator / InDesign
  • Proficient in Dreamweaver (or comparable HTML design tool)
  • Proficient in HTML/CSS experience (note that this is NOT web developer position, however)
  • Proficient in MailChimp
  • Ability to work in a Mac environment
  • College degree required, degree in Graphic Design/Marketing preferred.
  • Additional certifications a plus
  • Previous Graphic Design/Marketing experience required.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
  • Ability to work with outside vendors and ensure timely delivery of products. 
  • Preferable if the candidate can start immediately.

  • This job operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and filing cabinets.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. 
  • This is a full-time position, and general hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and frequent weekend work. 
  • Travel is not anticipated, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
