Jason S James

MD, FACOG
Professional Focus Dr. Jason James is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology specializing in laparoscopic and robotic gynecologic surgery and urogynecologic procedures. Dr. James’ medical interests include high-risk obstetrics, minimally invasive procedures for hysterectomies and ovarian cysts, reducing primary cesarean, and prenatal and postpartum depression.

After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. James earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He then completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center under the affiliation of Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he became Chief Resident and was awarded the Medical Student Teaching Award twice.

Dr. James currently serves as the Medical Director and as an Obstetrician & Gynecologist for FemCare Ob-Gyn LLC. He also serves as the President of the Medical Staff at Baptist Hospital of Miami. From 2014 to 2017, Dr. James served as the Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baptist Hospital. During this appointment, he spearheaded the creation of an OB Hospitalist Program, developed an obstetrical hemorrhage and a hypertensive crisis protocol, and served as Chairman of the Postpartum Depression Screening Task Force.

Dr. James' research focuses on postpartum depression, minimally invasive surgical options for hysterectomies, and pre-conceptual health. Dr. James has led numerous community discussions about women's health and is a well-regarded expert on the prevention of elective early-term deliveries and on umbilical cord blood banking. Outside of medicine, Dr. James enjoys boating, ultimate frisbee, tennis, traveling, and spending time with his wife, two sons, and daughter.
