Professional Focus Dr. Jonathan Hersch is board certified in Orthopaedic Surgery specializing in arthroscopy and sports medicine. He has an interest in knee, hip, and shoulder arthroscopy and joint preservation as well as sports medicine, trauma, and fracture care. Dr. Hersch's medical interests include finding ways to help treat patients by using the most minimally invasive techniques possible for their orthopedic concerns.

After graduating with honors and receiving his undergraduate degree from Duke University, Dr. Hersch earned his medical degree from the New York University School of Medicine. He completed an internship in General Surgery and a residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center. He also completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic. While living in Cleveland, Dr. Hersch assisted the team physicians for the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Cleveland Rockers. He then relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he was the Director of Sports Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical Center, as well as the Head Team Physician for La Salle University in the NCAA. In 2004, Dr. Hersch relocated to Florida, where he served as the Medical Director for professional tennis organizations and Team Physician for several university and high school athletic programs.

Currently, Dr. Hersch serves as an orthopedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist at Orthopedic Surgical Associates in Boca Raton and Boynton Beach, Florida. Additionally, he serves as a Clinical Affiliate Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery for Florida Atlantic University College of Medicine.

Dr. Hersch's past research focused on sports-related injuries, arthroscopy after arthroplasty, and injury prevention. He has studied and written several research publications and has been a national key speaker for conferences relating to his specialty. Among his many awards, Dr. Hersch was awarded the Top Doctor award from the Boca Raton Observer. He is a member of the Florida Orthopaedic Society, the Florida Medical Association, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Outside of medicine, Dr. Hersch enjoys staying active with tennis, basketball, yoga, and scuba diving, and on a more relaxing side, he enjoys music, percussion drums, and art.
